If You’re Gonna Scream, Scream with Me, is an exploration of youth, violence, individuality, insanity, and friendship in suburban teenage life. The screenplay is a coming of age story that takes place in the suburbs of Washington State. Steven, the protagonist and teen punk rocker, struggles to maintain loyalty to his best friend and Ben. When Steven develops a romance with a religious girl, his relationship with Ben becomes increasingly tumultuous, until the stakes become life and death.
